Need to haul new or old ties for track maintenance on your railroad? This 3D printed tie gondola can do just that!
The M-271 tie gondolas were built by Norfolk Southern from former Sieco 50' FS94 pulpwood cars in the Norfolk Southern's Tie Gon Conversion Program in the 1990s.
Kit comes with the following 3D printed parts: car body, tie load with recess to add weight, trucks, wheels, dummy couplers, coupler box covers, and end of train device. Also included are 2#-56x1/8" screws for coupler covers and 2#-56x1/4" screws for trucks.
Holes for screws in coupler box, coupler cover, and truck mount should be drilled and tapped for proper screw attachment.
**Painted versions will be painted with Tru-Color Safety Orange and have the trucks/couplers attached. EOT will be attached to the dummy coupler. Tie load will be painted, but will be separate for modeler to have the choice to add additional weight before setting in place.**
**Weathered versions will be lightly weathered using powders and realistic rust. Smokebox Graphics safety strips will be added to each car.**
Car Specs: approximately 8" in length, weight with load and all parts applied - 3.84 ounces
Although resin printed dummy couplers, trucks, and wheels are included to get you rolling, we recommend changing to metal couplers, wheels and trucks for optimal performance.
As this is a larger car, 22" curves or larger is recommended.

We use Shell Scale Decals and airbrush using Tru-Color Safety Orange.
